Good hosting mainly focused on higher end services at affordable prices

WooServers has been providing great hosting services since 2009.  They are primarily focused on VPS and dedicated servers, though they do have a few shared options as well. Despite the fact that they have these traditionally higher end hosting options, they are perhaps best known for their affordable prices. This is an interesting niche market that they have found for themselves.  Customers with higher end needs, but who are still worried about the budget.  Clearly, they have found an audience and have been doing a good job at meeting their needs. Overall, the services they provide are quite good, and most people don’t have much negative to say about them.  They have a lot of different options when it comes to dedicated servers, which is important.  They also have a number of different data center options including one in Europe, one on the East Coast of the US and one on the West Coast.

Very stable hosting with no obvious guarantees

 This company really doesn’t get into offering a set uptime guarantee for their customers.  Even with this, however, they have a good reputation for having a very reliable service.  This may be because of the fact that most of their customers are selecting the VPS or dedicated servers, which naturally have better uptime statistics.  In addition, since they have at least three higher end data centers, they aren’t likely to have any significant outages.

Excellent features for all hosting levels

 WooServers have a lot of different features available to choose from.  Most of them are the typical options that you’ll see from any company offering similar types of hosting.  One interesting option is that they offer OS X servers.  These are servers from Apple, which are required for app developers and some others who are targeting the MAC market. Another option that you should keep in mind is their ‘ultra-managed’ service, which means the tech support can do things like install software and perform other activities.  This is a great option for anyone who doesn’t like to do any of their own management.  Of course, it does cost a bit more, but for many people it is well worth it.

Good support, but no live options

 The support provided by this company is quite good, except for the fact that you don’t have any option for a live assist.  You can’t call, and they don’t offer live chat, which essentially puts you at the mercy of their ticketing system.  Many people won’t like this, but it is likely how they are able to keep their prices so low.

Great prices on all their products

 Price is always important when working with this company, and they do a good job at keeping their prices quite low.  Compared to many companies that offer similar services, you’ll save a fair amount each month.  Even when you look at some of the premium services, like the ultra-managed support, it is less expensive than many of the other companies.

Summary

Great hosting for higher end sites on a budget

 The hosting provided by this company is always top notch, despite the fact that they do such a good job at keeping their prices down.  If you are looking for VPS or dedicated servers anywhere in North America or Europe, this is an excellent company to consider.  Even their normal website hosting (shared) is very nice. Pros:
  • Data centers located in desirable locations
  • Great pricing
  • Plenty of plans to choose from
Cons:
  • Premium support is extra
  • No live tech support
  • No site building software
